Has your family adopted a child, or one or more individual experienced complex* trauma? If so, attachment focused therapy may be a great fit for you. I have completed level 1 training in DDP (Didactic Developmental Psychotherapy). This form of treatment focuses on the neuroscience of attachment and allows for me to assist parents to heal past breaks in their attachment, explore how they respond vs react to their children and encourage a playful, curious, accepting, and empathic stance with their children in day to day interactions. I will also help children more clearly connect and express their thoughts and emotions with their care givers while giving them a voice and encouraging them to find their authentic self.
Treatment will begin with each caregiver having a session with me where I will build a working relationship pulling on your strengths and areas of focus you have for your child. Each session moving forward will begin with the caregiver checking in for 5-10 minutes and the following session time will be spent with the caregiver and child together. Focus will be on exploring a recent issue that came up, and moving towards emotional and relationship repair as I provides guidance, empathy, and support for all individuals.
